I have created the period chart, but when I try to upload a Wav to the token of menu etc, I don't see the Wav file and also I take noticed that the vmpro doesn't allow you to become fully backwards to the main bulldoze like C:\.
I have added the file to the custom prompts and besides added a file called "welcome", just the file will not be seen.
Where or how tin I add it precisely, I am usin version 11

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro issue
You need to upload the wavs to the /opt/ipoffice/vmpro/wavs/CustomPrompts folder using SFTP, VMPro on a Server Edition uses the files from the UNIX filesystem. Once they're uploaded they will evidence up in the VMPro file selector.

Hi BFG9K,
I am using WINSCP for the SFTP, when I login I see the name of the module name Maria.vmp
What I see is: C:\Programme Files(x86)\IP Role\Voicemail Pro\VM, simply no Wav.
What SFTP do you utilize WINSCP or something else?
I am trying to find the details steps to do this in WINSCP

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition phonation mail service pro outcome
Nosotros utilise Bitvise to manage our IPOs, every bit it opens an SSH also every bit an SFTP session. As derfloh also said you need to convert the wav files to PCM, 8KHz Sample Rate, signed 16bit mono for them to exist recognized by VMPro
Zero6, I wanted to double check, are you using an IP Function Server Edition Voicemail Pro, or a Windows Server Voicemail Pro? If information technology's a Server Edition and then you volition exist using SFTP to transfer the files, if it'southward a Windows server so they are at C:\Program Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Wavs

Hi BFG9K,
And then the ip role server edition is in a VM ware environment, so the image has been downloaded and installed on a server.
What I did next was to go in the server using the ip twenty.xx.xx.xx/7070 and download the VMPro client from App heart in the server.
And then it IP Office Server Edition Voicemail Pro, or exercise I need to download the windows version?

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro result
Are file uploaded with root user and VMPro user doesn't have the rights ?
try to alter rights to 777 on the files ;)
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vox postal service pro upshot
Yous tin can use Web Manager (:7070) to upload the files to the /opt/ipoffice/VMProCustomPrompts folder then to the /opt/vmpro/WAVS folder
OR, you tin can use WinSCP to upload the files to /domicile/Administrator, then use PuTTY to SSH in as Administrator, switch to root, change the ownership of the files to vmpro:vmpro and motility them to the correct folder

nLeo (IS/IT--Direction)When you upload the files in the opt/ipoffice/vmpro/wavs/CustomPrompts folder brand sure you are not logged in VM Pro.
Later on uploading the file, select it, and then click on the icon acme right to commit changes.
If you are logged on VM pro it volition not commit.

Hi Derfloh,
This is in the WINSCP correct, using putty?
What is the cmd to become root?
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro issue
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vocalism postal service pro issue
I find information technology much easier to utilise Spider web Managing director'southward File Manager (in applications). Just upload to the custom prompts folder and click "utilize prompts". When you lot click "apply prompts" the file is then moved into the right VM Pro custom prompts binder (at that place are actually 2 custom prompts folders!) and is available to employ with all the correct file permissions.

ogTOKYO (IS/Information technology--Direction)and so here's a thing you tin can do. Utilize winscp under admin to move the file to /dwelling house/admin/desktop
then use putty to root in
#
mv /dwelling/admin/desktop/wavfile.wav /opt/vmpro/vm/Wavs/
chown vmpro:vmpro /wavfile.wav
chmod 755 /wavfile.wav
#
and if the file was uploaded and corrected converted to 8hz 16bit mono, you lot should be fine.

Howdy All,
Just a small update, I got it to work.
At that place was a minor issue with the root password, because no i had the password, so I had avaya support reset information technology.
Once washed I changed the rights in WINSCP and could load the recording.
Thank yous all for the assistance you have given me

What you demand to consider when using the File Managing director in Spider web Management is that it will delete all wave files and and so upload the files added in File Manager again.
If you uploaded other files through SCP the will be deleted.

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vocalisation post pro issue
janni78...simply constitute that out to my dismay using file managing director.
I uploaded the wav files as stated and i tested the recordings and they all worked
BUT...
and then I decided I need more wav files uploaded
then I added the new ones via file manager and in my wisdom I decided to tidy upwardly that upload folder.
And then I deleted the previous wav files that were loaded as they had already been sent to the voicemail pro and working
when I committed the new files...they uploaded ok
Only the previous files were deleted.
Then the Moral of this story is........
when using FILE Manager whatsoever files that you see in that location leave them alone
unless y'all REALLY want to delete them.
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition phonation mail pro issue
People still give the advise to apply chmod 777 or chmod 755 to .wav files.
THIS SHOULD NEVER BE DONE
This gives anyone execution rights to those files.
If annihilation utilize 644 which gives read+write access to owner and read rights to the rest.

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro consequence
Use WinSCP to put them in /home/Administrator/Custom
SSH via PuTTY, get to root, then...
Change the possessor of the files to vmpro:
chown vmpro:vmpro /dwelling/Administrator/Custom/*.*
Move the files into VM Pro Wavs directory, I use enu/Custom so I just motility the whole Custom directory:
mv /home/Administrator/Custom /opt/vmpro/Wavs/enu
Or if I've already created the Custom folder in enu, and am just adding additional files:
mv /habitation/Administrator/Custom/*.* /opt/vmpro/Wavs/enu/Custom
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vocalisation post pro effect
Whilst the Spider web Manager road is the official method - it has all the hallmarks of having been designed past people who have never had to utilise Voicemail Pro. It met the minimum requirement - job done. No care for usability, maintainability, flexibility.
Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Concur with you sizbut
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro issue
Janni, why? Please explain why chmod 755 a wav file is a bad thing in this example. I'll wait. God foreclose anyone execute my .wav file... lol

God forestall why should we exercise anything properly when we can take the like shooting fish in a barrel route.
Information technology's pretty like shooting fish in a barrel to find information about why this shouldn't be done, still people with no understanding of *nux keep doing it.
